brew for Mac installation (an effective way to test after stepping on numerous pits in 2020)

Keywords: sudo brew git github

A new computer

It took only one year for MacBook air to retire due to insufficient memory and hard disk. It updated the customized version of MacBook pro, and I would feel uneasy when I was happy because I had to reinstall the software to prepare for it. Sure enough, when installing brew, there was no ladder to try many methods without success. So after the successful installation, record it to help the students in need.

Error reporting and its causes

The following commands are used to install brew in many strategies

ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.github.com/Homebrew/homebrew/go/install)"

But they all pointed out that we should use ladders. If we do not use ladders in 2020, we will not download slowly, but report errors

curl: (7) Failed to connect to raw.githubusercontent.com port 443: Connection refused

The reason is that you can't access the website without a ladder https://raw.github.com/Homebrew/homebrew/go/install

Solution

Many solutions have been inquired from the Internet, including the use of Zhongke Dayuan, etc. it seems that the most reasonable and feasible solution is to search directly the website corresponding files downloaded by others (brew) since the website can not be accessed_ install.rb ), and then modify the source path in the file
https://raw.github.com/Homebrew/homebrew/go/install Become the path of USTC. The test was successful and effective.

Specific steps

1. New folder / usr/local/Homebrew

sudo mkdir /usr/local/homebrew

2. Save the following files to / usr/local/homebrew

#!/usr/bin/ruby
# This script installs to /usr/local only. To install elsewhere (which is
# unsupported) you can untar https://github.com/Homebrew/brew/tarball/master

summary

To solve the problem, we need to find a clear idea. In the absence of a ladder, we can find out the corresponding files of the inaccessible web address, and then solve the problem on this basis.
